Being thankful is important. Gratitude is nourishing to the soul, and while Thanksgiving is intended to be a time to do that, it is also a time to honor the indigenous people who were here first. For this year, Thanksgiving at The Bakeree is celebrating Native American culture as a testament to the strength and perseverance of its people. For November, we are featuring an artist from the Makkah nation, Frank Peterson, to honor and celebrate indigenous strength.
Frank uses color and striking texture to bring life to canvas. His art takes the viewer to a different world where shape becomes abstract yet familiar in shades of bright warm or chilled cool. The longing within some of his pieces is palpable, drawing out emotions from the corners of your chest.
The fantastic work of Frank Peterson will be on display in our Belltown dispensary location found at 222 Wall St. in downtown Seattle through December 9th, 2022. Make sure to take some time to catch it while stopping in to prepare for whatever gathering you’ll be attending on Thursday.
Whether it’s with family, friends, or a mix of both, let being grateful have a seat at the table. Take a moment to thank those that have come before and hold a space for honoring those that were truly here first.
We know that the holidays can be stressful, so for Nov. 23rd – 25th we will be taking 25% off storewide for Thanksgiving at The Bakeree. That means savings on whatever you need to make the season a little easier (and even pick up enough to share).
The sale will be going on at both Georgetown and Belltown locations followed by a special sale for Cyber Weekend. Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving.
